Opening EAC\Recipients\Goups- error: Your request couldn't be completed. Please try again in a few minutes.

1)  This error only occurs when accessing the tab or doing a refresh on the data.
2)  Entering Search criteria does show groups.
3)  In management shell, get-distributiongroup returns all groups successfully.
4)  get-rolegroupmember "organization management"  lists the account I am logging in with.
5)  Permisisons on ECP IIS site are anonymous and basic.
6)  formsauthentication is set to True
7)  ManagedBy is the account I am logged in with.

All other menus and tabs work fine.

Ideas?

Unable to assign Send As permissions.

Hello,

I am unable to assign Send As permissions in Exchange Admin Center or through the Exchange Management Shell. Both produce the same error message: Active Directory operation failed on server.domain.Local. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied. Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-031521E1, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0

I found other posts about the same issue and a resolution of adding the permissions through ADUC which worked but if the option is in the EAC, shouldn't it work there? This seems like a bug?

Creating Customized Retention Policy

Is it possible to create the following retention policy in Exchange 2010?

  1. Deleted Items folder = Delete items older than 90 days
  2. Exclude Calendar, Contacts and Tasks
  3. All other folders = Delete items older than 60 days

Items 1 and 3 above can be created as separate retention tags and added to a single retention policy if I am understanding is correct.

But, how do I exclude Calendar, Contacts and Task if item 3 is used?

Cannot Create New Mailbox

Hi all,

I got a problem in my Exchange Server 2013 environment. I cannot create new mailbox (new user) from ECP. But I can create new mailbox and choose existing user.

Active Directory operation failed on DC.mydomain.com. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied. Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-031A121F, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0 

already try with no luck :

  1. re-inherit the permission.
  2. setup /prepareAD
  3. I create new user and assign Org Management & Domain Admin

how to check whether the permission in my AD is correct ? or any idea should I start troubleshooting ?

RBAC to create mailbox

Hi all,

I want to create new role group (RG) for my Branch Administrator so they can create user + mailbox but they must not modify the policy quota size.

I already create the RG in my production server then I assigned Mail Recipientsand Mail Recipient Creation, but somehow when create mailbox it said access denied. But I can create user from ADUC and enable mailbox (use existing user) from ECP.

I'm using Exchange 2013 SP1. I try on my lab, it works, what could probably wrong in my production server ?

RBAC role needed for Connect-Mailbox cmdlet

Hi!

We added some user accounts to the 'Recipient Management' group and noticed that these accounts are not able to connect mailboxes by using the ECP in Exchange 2013. The dialog box that pops up just stays white.

Which RBAC management role is needed to use the Connect-Mailbox cmdlet?

Exchange 2013 - ECP Error Unable to get property

Good day ,

Im getting the following error when i trying to create a new mailbox

Also im getting the same error in some other places within ECP

but with different properties 


I already tried the comparability thing but it didnt work

I also tried IE11, Chrome and Firefox 

We have been using Exchange 2013 for 6 months

This Error is new , it happened after installing the latest Windows updates on all exchange servers yesterday (3 CAS and 3 MBX)

OS : Windows Server 2012 Standard R2

archive schedule

I'm turning on archiving for a number of users in my organization. We are all aware of the Outlook notes issue in that to prevent archiving of notes each user has to log into owa and assign a "personal never archive" policy on the folder. Please don't get hung up on this point, it's a fact of life and not one that I like. If you don't believe me research this or find my other threads on this topic.

Problem is it seems to be a "which came first the chicken or the egg scenario". Users don't have the ability to set the personal policy until archiving is enabled but if archiving is enabled the notes may get archived before the user can set the personal policy. 

Is there a way to enable archiving but have the actual archive "job" delayed or manually put asleep so that users have sufficient time to set the personal archive option on their notes folder.

Find who deleted folder in exchange user's mailbox ?

Say we have a hypothetical situation wherein 2 user's have full access to a particular mailbox however mailbox Audit Logging is not enabled in environment than is there a way out to discover which user out of two deleted particular folder from mailbox ?

Exch2k13 (C.U 4) - PShell and G.U.I not available and with error

Hi,

we have all users accessing outlook with no issues, all users using mobile fine also. But this morning when we tried to access the 'Exchange Toolbox' shows the following msg.

Does anyone idea on how to throubleshooting this?

I found similar posts like this issue but I´m able to open the '/ECP' website fine.

Configuring Exchange 2013 resource so that Outlook 2013 clients can only request to schedule a meeting

Hello,

We have a regular end user - not an exchange admin or anything fancy.   They are not a delegate of the room in outlook.   They don't have send on behalf or full access in ECP for the room.   However for some reason the room accepts meetings this person schedules while people with Outlook 2007 don't seem to have the same level of access.   We would like to make it so their only option is to request to schedule a meeting in that room - not actually create a meeting in that room.

Assuming we have two users -say U1 and U2 and we need  to map U1's access to U2 for a particular exchange 2010 conference room mailbox . is there a cmdlet or a way out to find membership and associated rights of 'U1' in exchange so that we may grant similar access and rights for U2. Please suggest.

Read receipt issue in exchange 2013

Hi All,

In my environment ,we are having exchange 2013 sp1 ENT edition with outlook 2010 and 2013 as the email client for the exchange users having their default email delivery to pst file .

In addition to that , if anyone of the sender send an email with read recipient option to the particular recipient who is having the default email delivery to pst file will generate an error message to the sender .

Note : Above issue is not happening for all the users having their default email delivery to pst file but for some users .

Error message : Your message was deleted without being read .

Steps handled :

1.) I have set the recipient mailbox message configuration to never send an read response but still the response is going to the sender.

2.) Checked the outlook versions.

Please do not ask us to have the default email delivery to exchange mailbox and it is not possible in our environment.

Microsoft Exchange 2013 mdb ping warning.

Hi,

I have newly installed Exchange 2013 server and I saw this Events logs full with this warning.

ping of mdb 'f0583cf2-caea-4644-8c98-0a466ce1cded' timed out after '00:00:00' minutes.Last successful ping was at '1/30/2013 11:53:27 AM' UTC.

any help on this?

Exchange and A.D not communicating

Hello,

We have on premise and cloud exchange. (office 365). the active directory and dns is physical server. apparently there are users that do not appear on A.D. and mailbox cannot be seen on premise and cloud as well but they are still able to access emails!!!

what can be the reason?? 

its happening with only a couple of users. the rest are fine.

can't login to ecp or owa

I have windows server 2012 dc on one vm and exchange 2013 with mailbox and client access roles installed on another vm.

I can connect to the exchange server using the exchange shell.

I cannot login to the exchange admin centre or owa. get http 500 error with both. Using the admin account which is a member of all required groups.

powershell Test-ServiceHealth command shows all services running.

Is it an IIS or exchange server problem and how can I troubleshoot. any help would be greatly appreciated.
