Last user access time for Public Folder in Exchange 2013

$

Helloooo,

I have a question for using powershell to get Last User Access Time for public folder in Exchange.

Only in Exchange 2010, I can use <Get-PublicFolderStatistics -Identity "\PublicFolderName" |fl> to get this property.

But in Exchange 2013, I cannot get it.

However, in following link that said we can view last user access and last user modified time info.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997949(v=exchg.150).aspx

Is there anyone who knows how to get Last User Access Time information?

Very Thanks

Jeson

Move all Exchange 2013 SP1 CAS logging to another drive

On my two Exchange 2013 SP1 CAS servers, the Exchange install directory is the "C" drive. I'm doing cleanup on the C drive and would like to move all logging (including Active Monitoring trace logs) to a separate drive. The two exchange boxes are virtual servers and I've added another disk.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Exchange 2013 Get-ServerHealth NotApplicable

Hi All,

I have a new installation of Exchange 2013. SCOM monitoring in place.

I'v noticed that a lot of errors showing on SCOM regarding the HealtSet is showing unhealthy.

But what is strange to me is that when I run Get-ServerHealth I see that the HealtSets that are showing as unhealthy are also in stateNotApplicable.

What does NotApplicable mean, and why is it event in unhealthy state if its not applicable?

Thanks,

Zarko

Exchange 2010 Tracking Oldest Messages in Mailbox exclude Flagged Messages

$

Hello,

Is there a powershell script that would be able to tell the oldest email message in a mailbox but not include flagged messages.

I am working on a quest for a legal hold.

The company wants me to look at Dell Quest Archive Manager and also Exchange 2010 and compare the reports and to verify that we aren't deleting email and that Quest Archive Manger is working as expected.

I have been working around powershell for awhile. I can understand it but not good enough to know were this would be.

Thanks for your help.

Exchange 2013 Online mode slow performance

Hello,

We recently moved mailboxes (180 or so) from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.  We are noticing that Outlook navigation seems to be very slow compared to the last server.  Changing folder views, switching from Inbox to Calendar, Deleting items, etc.  Also we used to be able to send 40MB HTML emails very quickly.  This now takes about 5 min just to open a reply. (These are tripwire reports.)  Most users are using Outlook in Online mode on the new server and were using Online mode on the old server

Environment: Exchange 2013 SP1 on Server 2012r2 Standard (6 cores 24 gigs of RAM, VMWare VM.)  Old server is Exchange 2007 8.3.348.2 on Server 2008x64 Standard SP2 (8 cores 12 gigs of RAM. Physical.)

I have a ticket open with MS but didn't really get anywhere after 9 hours yesterday.

Thanks.

Exchange 2013 EAC - Blank page after login

I have installed Exchange 2013

3 Servers - EX2013MBXA and EX2013MBXB (Mailbox Role only on each Server - DAG setup) on Win 2012, andEX2013CASA (CAS Role) on Windows 2008 R2

EX2013CASA Server has SSL Cert form internal PKI (URL is https://owamail.Domain_Namr/owa)

All was OK and then suddenly when accessing EAC from Internet Explorer type in URL as above and logon as Domain Admin and then just get a blank page.

I have tried New-ecpVirtualdirectory and New-OWAVirtualDirectory as suggested on some sites to reset ecp in IIS.

Get-ClientAccessServer shows my CAS Server (EX2013CASA)

Worryingly

Test-ecpConnectivity -ClientAccessServer EX2013CASA reports

"The specified computer isnt a Client Access Server"

Any Ideas on blank EAC and the above error message ?

Many thanks in advance

Identifty different features usage for SPLA report automation

Hi,

We are trying to automate SPLA report automation using PowerShell for exchange server 2013, and need to understand few things for this purpose.

Can please someone explain what are these features, and how to identify them using powershell (whether some exchange users using them or not):

-- Shared Folders

-- Shared Address Lists

-- Shared  Contacts

-- Shared Calendar

-- Mobile Browse

-- Compliance Management

-- Exchange 2013 Anti spam

as written in this document.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have SCOM 2012 R2 setup to monitor our Exchange 2013 CU5 enviroment and we have gotten this error message about our Clustering going in to an unhealthy state a couple of times.  We have checked the FSW and everything seems OK on its end.  I cannot find much out there on this message, so any help would be greatly appreciated:

DAG with Exchange 2010 & Exchange 2013

Hello,

I'd like to implement DAG in the system, but I was wondering if it is possible to use DAG in Exchange 2010 and 2013 environment?

Estimated amount of servers:

Exchange 2010 Standard

Exchange 2013 Enterprise

Exchange 2013 Enterprise

What I'm planning to do is moving all the mailboxes, public folders from Exchange 2010 Standard to Exchange 2013 Enterprise, then start using DAG and make Exchange 2010 as a member of DAG. Is it possible?

Thank you in advance.

I have created custom Retention tags and associate them with custom retention policy other than the default retention policy "Default MRM Policy".

but after that the users still see the "Default MRM Policy" Tags instead of the tags of the policy i have created.

i ran Start-ManagedFolderAssistant many times but didn't solve the issue.

it's been 2 days now.

Exchange 2013 - Quota notifications problem

$

Hello,

First of all I want to express mild disappointment with the way quota notification alerts are documented on Technet for Exchange 2013. The only reference I could find is that QuotaNotificationSchedule parameter of the Set-MailboxDatabase cmdlet no longer does anything: "This parameter has been deprecated in Exchange 2013 and it no longer does anything.".

The only other reference I could find is this forum post:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/f30bb2ca-91ab-4e69-a8b6-720e6a8a5b83/exchange-2013-quota-notification-message-not-sent-during-schedule?forum=exchangesvrgeneral

where it says: "Quota messages are generated once the user log in to mailbox in exchange 2013."

However, Microsoft Press published a book in 2013 "Inside Out: Microsoft Exchange Server 2013: Mailbox and High Availability" where QuotaNotificationSchedule parameter is being referenced as a working parameter which controls when Quota notification are being sent.

My experience says that the forum post is correct.

Now onto the problem.

While our customer was still on Exchange 2010 they were the victims of this issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2480474/en-us which could easily be fixed with CheckWarningQuota registry key.

Now we have migrated those mailboxes to Exchange 2013 and again, users are not receiving quota notification e-mails. Only a few users receive quota notifications e-mails and those are users that got their mailbox created on the new Exchange 2013 system. Migrated users do not receive notifications. We have tried CheckWarningQuota on Exchange 2013 but it does nothing. Our theory is that mailbox flag introduced in Exchange 2010 SP1 is migrated with the mailboxes to Exchange 2013 and is the reason why we are not receiving quota notifications again.

I appreciate thoughts and comments.

Dinko

Export Outlook shared calendar

$

Hello Messaging Teams,

Often we see Outlook running slow when there are multiple shared mailboxes or shared calendars configured.

We have seen users with more 70 calendars configured as shared calendars, once that was added was never removed.

I am hoping to export list of all the "Shared Calendars" that a user has in his Outlook using powershell, and then I want to review this globally for all users in the organization. Idea is to find what is required and then remove them.

I have already tried -

Get-Mailbox USER | Get-MailboxFolderStatistics | Where-Object {$_.FolderType -eq 'User Created' -and $_.folderpath -like '/calendar/*'} | select identity, name

Get-MailboxCalendarFolder -Identity "User:\calendar\

Get-MailboxFolderStatistics USER -FolderScope Calendar | Select Name,FolderandSubFolderSize,ItemsinFolderandSubfolders

Nothing has worked till now, I am hoping to understand from the experts if this is even a possibility or if so how can I achieve this...

Thanks in advance

Received messages have high latency

We have exchange 2013 and Outlook 2010/2013 clients. Messages are received from the outside and can be seen on my spam filter and are immediately forwarded to my exchange server. Once they are on the exchange server it takes anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes for the client to receive it. This also happens internally. If I send an email to another coworker it will take about the same time for that person to receive my message. Email sent to outside email accounts such as hotmail are received almost immediately. Any help would be appreciated. This just started about a month ago.

Read receipt issue in exchange 2013

Hi All,

In my environment ,we are having exchange 2013 sp1 ENT edition with outlook 2010 and 2013 as the email client for the exchange users having their default email delivery to pst file .

In addition to that , if anyone of the sender send an email with read recipient option to the particular recipient who is having the default email delivery to pst file will generate an error message to the sender .

Note : Above issue is not happening for all the users having their default email delivery to pst file but for some users .

Error message : Your message was deleted without being read .

Steps handled :

1.) I have set the recipient mailbox message configuration to never send an read response but still the response is going to the sender.

2.) Checked the outlook versions.

Please do not ask us to have the default email delivery to exchange mailbox and it is not possible in our environment.

MS Filtering Engine Update behind proxy

Hi,

We have an Exchange 2013 server running behind a proxy. This causes the FIPFS event 6027, saying it's unable to download any antimalware updates.

My question: Is it possible to make Exchange proxy-aware, for instance by setting the system proxy? If not, how can I download the updates manually to an alternate path?

Cannot delete Public Folder that is flagged as Hold for Migration

$

I am attempting to remove a public folder mailbox per this KB article

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2786607

Presently there is one Public Folder mailbox that is held for migration.  I decided not to migrate any public folders over because we want to structure it differently.  So I need to remove the mailbox presently there flagged as held.  This is a secondary hierarchy mailbox.  There is no primary.

When I run

Get-Mailbox -PublicFolder | where {$_.IsRootPublicFolderMailbox -eq $False} | Remove-Mailbox –PublicFolder

I receive

Public folder replication has been delayed.  Please wait until replication is complete before you remove this public folder mailbox.  Replication could take up to an hour.  If you remove the mailbox before replication is complete, your public folder deployment could be in an inconsistent state.

I have been unable to find a workaround for this.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Room Finder is not working - neither Online nor Cached Mode

$

Hello everyone,

since the migration to exchange we have problems with the room finder.

Infrastructure is 2 Exchange 2013 SP1 in a DAG. DNS Round-Robin.

We created a room lists (distribution list not security) for each branch office that has meeting rooms.
Each room list has at least 3 meeting rooms.

Room finder does not select between the list and shows "none". This happens in Cached mode or Online mode. When we work with OWA (which we usally deactivate) you can select the list and then the free rooms.

Free Busy is working. When i use the scheduling assistant and add all rooms i can see the the infomations for all rooms.

Can anyone help with troubleshooting ?

Best Regards

Stephan
