I've tried a few different approaches to fix this - iisreset, disable SSL on PowerShell virtdir, enable KerbAuth.dll native on PowerShell virtdir, ensuring a valid cert is applied to the exchange backend site in IIS. I have also updated to the most recent Update. I even tried the Exchange Management Trouble shooter which fails https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/exchange-management-b9d918b1
We only use exchange 2013 for O365 Purposes so its not heavily used I literally cant think of anything else. The problem I think has happened in July 7th update I think. I cant seem to connect to the admin portal EPC or even the exchange toolbox.

Hi All,
What's best practice for the defragmentation of Exchange DB's these days? On our older version of Exchange 2007 we used to used GoExchange to remove white-space but unsure of 2013. Doing some research there appears to be a lot of mixed reviews as to whether this should or should not be done at all.
Would be nice to have a definite answer and if possible a guide on how to do this.
Many Thanks,
Amanda

Hi,
We have two exchange 2013 server in DAG one on primary site and another on DR site.
Recently we have renewed and installed 3rd party SSL certificate on our primary exchange server and enabled IMAP,POP,SMTP,IIS services for that certificate. It work perfectly without any issue.
After that I export that certificate and Import on our DR exchange server and enabled all aforesaid service for the that server.
Query 1 . Is need to export and import same certificate to my DR exchange server.
Query 2. What services need to be enabled for certificate on DR site.
Query 3. What is the impact of mail flow if same certificate with all service enabled on both exchange server.
Hi
From several weeks all Outlook 2016 in my company have problems with shared mailbox synchronization. Users have to use option "Update Folder" for every subfolders on shared mailbox. Do you have the same problems?
Kind Regards Tomasz
Hi all,
I recently renewed the Exchange Server Auth Certificate on our 6 Exchange servers (3 Cas, 3MBX). I followed this link http://byronwright.blogspot.com/2018/05/expired-microsoft-exchange-server-auth.html.
The process was pretty straight forward and all seems to work. But after waiting a full day to make sure I had no replication issues. I went back into Exchange ECP and deleted the old Auth certificate that remained on each server. Once I did that I started
getting the following error on my CAS servers
eventID: 12023 Source: MSExchangeFrontEndTransport
Microsoft Exchange could not load the certificate with thumbprint of "Old Auth Cert thumbprint " from the personal store on the local computer. This certificate was configured for authentication with other Exchange servers. Mail flow to other Exchange servers could be affected by this error. If the certificate with this thumbprint still exists in the personal store, run Enable-ExchangeCertificate "Old Auth Cert thumbprint" -Services SMTP to resolve the issue. If the certificate does not exist in the personal store, restore it from backup by using the Import-ExchangeCertificate cmdlet, or create a new certificate for the FQDN or the server enabled for SMTP by running the following command: New-ExchangeCertificate -DomainName serverfqdn -Services SMTP. Meanwhile, the certificate with thumbprint "public 3rd party Cert thumbprint" is being used.
I am not sure how Exchange still sees the old cert as it has been deleted from all the servers. When I run get-authconfig it references the thumbprint for the new cert.
Can someone explain what I need to do to sort this out.
Thanks-
-Edatha-
Hi guys.
After you enable journal on exchange database what exactly does it do? Does it take all mailboxes of current database and make a copy of all the items of mailboxes stored in that exchange database or does it start doing for any future items after that moment when you enable journal. We would like to avoid exchange db to grow fast because journal mailbox would start making copies of all the items that are already in mailboxes stored in db.

Hi All
We have a problem with exchange 2010 (got all the updates and rolups) where now and then people loosing ability to search they emails (NOT a local issue, test-exchangesearch fails) and we have to re index mailbox databases by running ResetSearchIndex.ps1 .
Can anybody point me in the right direction to find why it is happening - which logs do I need to search and what to look for etc. Maybe somebody had similar issue and managed to resolve it.
Thanks
We are running an exchange 2013 server (have migrated from exchange 2010) and have created an organization throttling policy in order to alter the recipient rate limit for all users. When running the following
Get-ThrottlingPolicy | where-object {$_.IsDefault -eq $true}
nothing is returned...
Also, running Get-ThrottlingPolicy | fl name, isdefault returns a list of the policies without the isdefault attribute...
I changed the default policy applied to users from the following location in active directory (i have set msExchThrottlingIsDefaultPolicy to TRUE in the organization throttling policy i have created):
CN=Global Settings, CN= Exchange Org, CN= Microsoft Exchange , CN=Services, CN= Configuration, DC= Domain, DC = COM
but still running Get-ThrottlingPolicy | fl name, isdefault returns a list of the policies without the isdefault attibute...
So how can i make sure that there is a default policy apllied to all users? When i ask the policy of a random user it returns nothing (null)....
Any ideas?
I've been working more often these days with EMS than I used to. The EMS I'm using is directly on the Exchange 2013 server but I'm plagued with a recurring issue.
I'm typically using EMS for 3 to 4 hours sending commands through when suddenly it needs to create a new session. When it attempts to get a new session, it throws an error.
**********************************************************
New-PSSession : [MyExServer.MyDomain.com] Connecting to remote server MyExServer.MyDomain.com failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot complete the operation. Verify that the specified computer name is valid, that the computer is accessible over the network, and that a firewall exception for the WinRM service is enabled and allows access from this computer. By default, the WinRM firewall exception for public profiles limits access to remote computers within the same local subnet. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
**********************************************************
It tries to establish a new connection several times but eventually fails. I can close the EMS window the open a new one but it still fails to connect. If I wait several hours or even sometimes till the next day, it will connect again and I can work for 3-4 more hours until it fails again.
What would cause the connection to work OK for a while then suddenly stop? Am I overrunning some buffer or something?
Frustrated is an understatement.
