Uninstall Exchange 2013 CAS and MBX - Coexistence Environment

Hello,

I have the following environment:

- Exchange 2007: One HUB/CAS and two Mailbox servers (all working fine)

- Exchange 2013: Four Hyper-V VMs (two CAS and two MBX), DAG for Mailbox servers and WNLB for CAS servers

Case:

Few days ago, after finishing windows updates on all Exchange 2013 servers, suddenly, ECP start giving me errors, all fields are empty and I cannot configure anything!!

Question:

How can I completely uninstall all Exchange 2013 servers and roles without affecting Exchange 2007 running status?

Internal and external no-reply address.

Hi,

Kindly let me know the steps to identify the internal reply address to mails.

Eg: When I sent a mail and then tried to call back that mail. I got a reply from a user id that the message cannot call back at this time.

The id I got mail from is another user id which is not involved in the mail chain I tried to call back.

This is something like a postmaster or noreply address. Please let me know how do I find and configure this for internal and external mails.

This is in Exchange 2010.

Facing Issues While Running a LoadGen test

I am facing an error while error while running a simulation phase using LoadGen tool.

Can anyone help to resolve this error..It is showing me a Swordfish error.It is showing too much load.

Then i redeployed my client server and again started the test it is showing the same error.

Can anyone help me?

As per my knowledge we don't have any free NSF to PST conversion tool out in market however i want to know any alternative solution to get the job done by means by scripts or some intelligent mechanism that we as an messaging admin can implement to save cost involved in migrations . Please suggest ?

Blocking SPAM emails using Message ID

Hello, 

We are receiving multiple SPAM emails that has different sender, domain, IP & subnet.  But the message ID is the same.  

The message ID is 1VI1PR0401CA00076778VI1PR0401CA00076767VI1PR0401CA0007@VI1PR0401CA0007.eur05.prod.office365.com

I created a rule using the following condition...

A message header includes "1VI1PR0401CA00076778VI1PR0401CA00076767VI1PR0401CA0007" "Specify Words or phrase" "1VI1PR0401CA00076778VI1PR0401CA00076767VI1PR0401CA0007@VI1PR0401CA0007.eur05.prod.office365.com"... and the action is set to delete without notifying

This is not deleting the SPAM emails and the SPAM keeps coming in from different sender, domain, IP & subnet, where the message ID remains the same.

Is it possible to block emails using the above condition & action? Or what would be the best suggestion for this scenario? Any assistance is highly appreciated.

Shared Mailbox Permissions

Hi guys!

I'm trying give ready-only permission to some users in a shared-mailbox (all folders), however, I received a error message when I run the following powershell command:

Add-MailboxPermission -Identity SHAREDMAILBOX -User 'USER' -AccessRights Reviewer -InheritanceType All -AutoMapping $true

Message error:

A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'InheritanceType'.
    + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (:) [Add-MailboxFolderPermission], ParameterBindingException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NamedParameterNotFound,Add-MailboxFolderPermission
    + PSComputerName        : outlook.office365.com

Also, I need show this shared-mailbox automatically in OWA of all users, it's possible?

Outlook 2016 crashes at setup - Exchange 2013 and 2010 co-existing

I've had an Exchange 2010 server running with 2012 R2 AD servers with mail running fine, no errors.

I installed Exchange 2013, and I have internal and external OWA working fine.

I moved a 2010 mailbox to 2013 to test the connectivity of 2013. It moved successfully and I can access it with OWA.

So to test Outlook 2016, I setup Win10 w/Outlook 2016. Starting Outlook setup, it matches the logged on user immediately. 

When the setup is connecting with the mailbox on Exchange 2013, Outlook 2016 crashes. I have to remove Registry entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles\Outlook to get the install to run again. Same issue when it's run again.

Do I have to tell Outlook where to look for the mailbox since I moved it to 2013? Is autodiscover still pointing to 2010 - not sure where to find this information as no autodiscover are setup in DNS.

Not sure what I'm missing here!

Block all External Access to Exchange 2013 except Activesync and Mail Flow

Hello everyone, I am not a master of load balancers but I know Exchange and was asked if I could figure out some way to Block OWA/ECP/EWS externally but still want to use it internally.

 

There are 5 exchange 2013 with CAS and MBX roles on each of the servers load balanced with Netscaler.

I know you can block individual websites with F5 and there is a way to do this (workaround way) with Kemp but since I am not fully aware of the Netscalar load balancing capabilities.

I was thinking of doing source IP restrictions in IIS but not sure how to deal with the external access coming in from the load balancer.

 

Chaos causes progress, Order inhibits it.

I have Exchange 2013 Standard. If i need CALs for device to send from PC via server (SMTP port 25) email from Powershell ?

Example: 

Send-MailMessage -From "not_exist_mailbox@on.net" -To "exist_mailbox@on.net" -Subject "Test email" -Body "This is a test email"

not downloading the emails

About two weeks ago, something started to go wrong with outlook, it started to not downloading the emails from the inbox. We have to close and open the outlook to download emails.

Today I ran offCAT v2 to scan outlook and its showing the following error :No MX record found running ‘Nslook.exe –type=mx –timeout=15’

Many users are facing the issues

O365 and OnPrem not synced

Only one user is not syncing with their Exchange account, it appears that the OnPrem thinks there is no mailbox attached, while the cloud is fine.  the Fixit tool reports no anomaly, and the sync appears to be working fine.  I can find no errors.  This is my first time playing in a hybrid environment.  what should I be looking for????

Measure Exchange 2013 Replicated Data From one Server to another server or one Site to Another site.

We're running Exchange environment 2013 with DAG & site resilience and our databases are being replicated on our secondary site( Exchange Servers).
How do I measure the traffic between two sites? I need to measure that how much data is replicated on my secondary site (Exchange Servers from the primary site (Exchange Servers) on daily basis.
Your technical opinion would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm receiving this error on our Exchange 2013 server and was wondering if anybody has encountered it before, what is it caused by and what is the fix?

I have 2 exchange systems (2013) separated in two sites one in HQ (Proxy) and the second in branch, I need power shell command to get the top 10 senders only from my branch exchange Servers.

Mails delayed

Hi,

We use Exchange 2013 standard version.

We have 2 mailbox servers in DAG with CAS role also installed.

All users when sending mails it takes more than 1 minute to release from outlook. I do not see any particular error or warning in event viewer.

Please let me know the steps to resolve this issue.

IMAP4 Service not starting

Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 Backend service starts successfully, but the Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 service itself starts, then stops after a minute.

There is nothing in the log file of note other than a series of open/close events before the service stops again:

OpenSession
capability
login - HealthMailbox
CloseSession
OpenSession
capability
CloseSession
OpenSession
capability
CloseSession
OpenSession
capability
CloseSession

The service would not start at all if the ports were being used by another process. AV exclusions are in place.

Anything I can do troubleshoot further?  .
