How do I get Reports from select list of Exchange Servers

$

My organization is huge (600,000+ mailboxes) with vastly distributed servers across a wide geogrphy.  One location is served by 8 mailbox servers.  I want to run a report that will list all users that have a mailbox larger than 6 GB by database and limit the report to just those 8 servers, not the entire enterprise (we have many maiilbox servers).

I think there is a way to list the 8 servers in a csv file?  And from that csv file I will need the report to generate where mailbox size is greater than 6 GB and the name of the database on which that mailbox is hosted.

The below query works but explores the entire enterprise, takes a long time to run.

get-mailbox -resultsize unlimited | Get-MailboxStatistics | where {$_.TotalItemSize -ge 6GB} | Select DisplayName,TotalItemSize, Database | Sort -Descending -Property TotalItemSize | Export-CSV C:\output.csv –NoTypeInformation

Generate usage reports of Resources in Exchange Server

Hi All,

Would appreciate help on knowing if there is a way to generate reports of a room (resource) booking. We have multiple rooms in our organisation and my bosses want to know the usage of these rooms.

The rooms are set up as resources in our Exchange Server (2013). I don't see any options in the Administrative Centre. I tried searching for a third party software but couldn't find any as well.

Hope to hear from you guys!

Delegate "New-MoveRequest" permission to users (not administrator)

Hi,

We're currently using Exchange in hybrid mode. I need to delegate the possibility to users (in IT department) to move mailbox from Exchange On-Premise to Exchange Online.

Everything goes fine when using the function "New Remove Move Request" in Exchange EMC as administrator, or when running the cmdlest new-moverequest -Remote as administrator.

What I'd like is the possibility to allow users of the IT dpt to use this function (either from EMC or powershell) without them beeind administrator. Is it possible to delegate this authorization ?

Thanks for any help/advice/solution !

Remove Users Ability to Change Permissions on Individual Mailboxes

All,

We have initiated a company policy against our CSR's being able to read their assigned sales person's email box.    I removed all the access only to find out that each individual sales person has given them delegate access in outlook so that they have access to full permissions to their email box.

So my question is this...is there anyway to remove the users ability in Outlook to create delegates and or provide permissions on each individual folder in the users inbox.

Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: The connection to the specified remote host was refused

Hi. Hope someone can help me.

I had to install a new certificate on our 2013 exchange server.  After having a few issues, I managed to get the certificate working (I needed to run the following command.....

netsh winhttp import proxy ie

However, since then, when I try to run the Exchange Management Shell, I receive the following message....

Connecting to remote server <servername> failed with the following error message : The connection to the specified remote host was refused.  Verify that the WS-Management service is running on the remote host and configured to listen for reauesrs on the correct port and HTTP URL

If I run "winrm enumerate winrm/config/listener" from the command line I get....

Address = *
Transport = HTTP
Port = 5985
Hostname
Enabled = true
URLPrefix = wsman
CertificateThumbprint
ListeningOn = <exchange server IP address>,127.0.0.1,

Any ideas?  I definitely think it's got something to do with this certificate I've just installed.

Thanks in advance.

Custom RBAC role to maintain Receive Connectors - EAC permissions issue

$

Hi all

I'm fighting with strange issue. The goal is to delegate adding IP addresses to RELAY receive connector to ServiceDesk people. I have created new role based on default "Receive Connectors" ans removed commands NEW, REMOVE and also parameters from SET-ReceiveConnector. Everything seems to be working except adding new IP address or range/subnet.

The issue is in EAC. When I login to EAC with delegated account, I can select existing IP and remove it by clicking on the "minus" sign. But when I click on the "plus" or "pencil (edit)" sign to add new IP the new IE pop-up (which should be REMOTE ADDRESS SETTINGS) windows says permission error and offers SignOut.

I have tested it also with original default Receive Connectors role and it behaves the same way.

Do you know anyone, what other kind of permission I need to pickup and where?

Thx in advance
Daniel

GAL photo not updates after changed in Active Directory

Good day!
We have a on-premise Exchange 2013 CU6 environment  with two multirole servers (CAS1 and CAS2).
After migrating from Exchange 2010 we noticed following issue:
User photos uploads from Sharepoint protal profile to AD thumbnailPhoto attribute and then they appear in Exchange 2013 GAL.

But if photo is removed from  Sharpoint profile (or thumbnailphoto attribute) changes did not reflects in Exchange GAL (OWA or Outlook Online mode).

Tried following:

Get-GlobalAddressList | Update-GlobalAddressList           - no effect

Get-OfflineAddressBook | Update-OfflineAddressBook       - no effect

I managed to remove photo from OWA and Outlook only after running Remove-UserPhoto -Identity username

Is this normal behavior or something needs to be fixed?

Thank you.

Hello All,

Looking for some help here.

Getting these warnings that are referring to a recovery database that was created to restore a mailbox and has since been removed.

The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process jobs in a mailbox database.
Database: Missing database (026eca3b-2899-4c05-9bea-cbc5736fd93a)
Error: Database '026eca3b-2899-4c05-9bea-cbc5736fd93a' doesn't exist.

Simple environment, single mailbox server, no DAG at this point..

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Jason

Prohibit send setting issue...

I have 5 different Mailbox database stores with different mailbox limits.  The Mailbox database store  for "Mail401" has the following limits;

  • Issue a warning at .2 GB (200mb)
  • Prohibit send at .22 GB (220mb)
  • Prohibit send and receive at unlimited (need users to always receive email)

I thought all was working by design but it turns out that users in this database are still able to send even though they've reached the "Prohibit send" limit.  What do I need to do to resolve this?

Exchange 2013 works great internally, but externally only revceives and cannot send emails

Hello,

It is a server 2012 running Exchange 2013 fresh install for testing purposes. Exchange set up was done with no error. Emails are ok internally, using OWA or phone under the same network or out of it, no problem with send and receive. IIS properly set up and both OWA and ESP working internally and externally.

But cannot send emails to other domains, externally. Even though still receives emails from any external domains. Telnet is working properly, connections are ok, ports are properly taken care of (used to be 25, same thing, changed it to 587 in case ISP blocking 25 but no success).

Exchange 2013 w3wp.exe processes consuming large amounts of memory

We have a fairly new implementation of Exchange 2013 CU3 which is already beginning to show performance issues.  The design was ratified by both Dell and Microsoft before the production build commenced and we recently had Microsoft review it again as part of the RAP program.  Our site spans two data centres and is configured with 3 active\3 passive mailbox nodes and 6 CAS's all of which are VM's running on VMWare 5.5.  The mailbox role has 12 CPU's and 96GB RAM, while the CAS's have 4 CPU's and 12GB RAM.  The initial architecturewas fleshed out by using the Exchange role calculator and at the time we we overspecced our environment to allow for future growth.

Our main concern is that we are seeing daily increases in the consumption of CPU and memory which eventually causes system instability and users lose access to their mailbox via Outlook RPC connections.  This generally takes about a week to occur.  It appears that the processes for the MSExchangeRPCProxyAppPool and MSExchangePowershellFrontEndAppPool are the biggest consumers of processing power and I am wondering if there is a way to recycle the app pools without causing system issues, e.g. by putting them into maintenance mode first?

We plan to go to CU6 in about 3 weeks and we aren't in a position to rush this any sooner - and we're not sure that this would assist us anyway.

ECP notification alerts stuck while there is no request present

$

I have two notification alerts stuck in the ECP for an few months now and I cannot seem to get rid of them.

The alerts are about an pst import and pst export request. Both alerts state that the in/export has been queued. However on both my servers the Get-MailboxExportRequest comes back empty (even with | Get-MailboxExportRequestStatistics added).

Worth mentioning is that both the export and import request where successful at the time. Also other alerts that have popped up since then (an SSL cert expiration alert) have disappeared once their respective issues had been solved.

Get-Notification indeed gives me both messages, but sadly there is no "Remove-Notification" command.

Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of these two messages?

How to enable health monitor on exchange 2013.

Dear All,

I ran the BPA for exchange 2013 on one of our CAS servers and received the below event, I need to enable the 'MessageCountMonitor' on exchange server. I have other counters that I need to enable but I'll start with this and apply for the rest.

Event:

The health alert value of 'MessageCountMonitor' on exchange server 'server_name' is 'Disabled', that may cause some special unhealthy state of the server. Run 'Get-ServerHealth' to get the detail information.
