Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

One of my user is getting following error message.

"Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

recipientemailid@mycompanydomain.com

Your message wasn't delivered because the recipient's e-mail provider rejected it."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He is sending a .pdf attachment to 3 recipients but getting the delivery failure report for all 3 users.

But when he sends it to one by one he is able to send it without any errors.

All other emails to same recipients are being sent properly even when sent to all 3 of them in the same email.

What could be the issue?

Can't move mailbox from 2010 to 2013

hello everyone,

we have two exchange servers in our environment both an exc2010(c,h,m) and an exc2013(c,h,m).

we were able to move mailboxes each others both exchange server. but yesterday I tried to move a mailbox from exc2010 to exc2013 than still waiting queued (status detail) for 30 hours. I tried other mailbox but not solved. at the same time I can still move from exc2013 to exc2010 successfully. there is no error logs on the exchange servers.

Mails were deleted automatically from inbox and sent items, even in deleted items in Exchange 2013 CU2

Dear all:

I encountered a problem and needs to be solved.

We runs Exchange 2013 CU2, and some users told me that their mails in sent items and inbox were automatically delivered into "deleted items", especially in last two weeks or yesterday.

The users said they cannot delete so many mails at one time. And now I found one user's mails in "deleted items" were also deleted this morning.

I don't know whether it was bug or not in exchange 2013 cu2, and how to solve this problem? Thanks for any help.

Outlook 2007 and 2010 on Windows XP keeps asking for password

I have a fresh installation of Exchange 2013 installed on Windows 2012 and the problem is that Outlook 2007 and 2010 which is installed on Windows XP keeps asking for password.

The problem occurs only on Windows XP while on Windows 7 is working fine.

Any help will be appreciated!

Not able to see all organizational units when trying to create mail objects in ECP

We are currently implementing Exchange 2013 in a multiple domain environment, with many organisational units.

We want to delegate the task of create dynamic distribution groups to some colleagues using ECP.

We have created Management Role, Scope and group and we are able to grant the admins the permission to do this task.The problem is that the OU that we want them to create the groups in is not visible when using the browse button to select an organisational unit, and many OUs are missing.

I have checked permissions on the OUs and the Exchange groups look to have the correct permissions. We can create objects in the correct OU using powershell, but we would prefer that they use the web gui.

We get a warning on the screen "There are more results available than are currently displayed" when trying to select the OU, which makes me think we have reached a limit.

Is there any way for us to increase this limit, a way to restict which OUs are visible, or any other solution which will allow us to delegate this task?

exchange 2010 performance - cas/hub role and memory utilization

I understand that the mailbox database role is supposed to consume almost all of the memory at any given time.

Does that apply to servers with the hub/cas role as well?

Hi all, just a question about CAS funcionality:

- I have 2 AD sites..

- In site A I have 2 Exchange Server 2010 CAS  and 1 MBX. The DC is Windows Server 2008 R2 and GC

- In site B I have 2 Exchange Server 2010 CAS and 1 MBX. The DC is Windows Server 2008 R2 and GC.

The user X is in site A and the user Y is in the site B.

The question is can I access the mailbox X using the CAS from site B?

Outlook 2013 Out Of Office cannot be display because the server is currently unavailable

Hi

Currently our users using Outlook 2013 is getting the following prompt when trying to access their automatic reply settings:
"Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable".

This only happen on Outlook 2013  and it works for 2007, 2010 and OWA users. Our Exchange server version is 2007. any advise ?

Multiple E-Mail Accounts - Adding Additional Email Addresses

Hello,

In need of some help or advice on e-mail accounts with exchange server online.

Is there a way to re-direct mail for a specific address (test@domainname.com) back to my website mailserver through exchange online.

We require a few additional email addresses that we give to clients and contractors temporarily. Obviously we do not wish to pay $16.50 a month just to have these accounts, especially as these emails will not need access to any of the OWA features or Office ProPlus.

Is there a way to make this happen? Re-direct specific addresses to an external source (back to our webserver) so that the users of these email address can retrieve their mail from the web server, perhaps using mail2.domainname.com to sign-in and retrieve this mail.

Or perhaps there is another solution to the problem of adding additional exchange accounts that I am not aware of. 

Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Exchange Server mounting issue

Hello 

I have a exchange 2010 running as Virtual Server in VM. I don't have any antivirus installed on it. It doesn't mount the DB and sometime it gets froze too. I did a scan with Malwarebytes and didn't find anything weird. I also created a new mailbox and moved couple mailboxes into it, but the problem still persists. For the storage I am using 1 Tb and storage currently is 330 GB. It has 16Gb Memory. The Log file is 386 MB and Data file is 381 MB. This problem comes randomly and rebooting it fix for couple hours and again become the issue. The error logs doesn't provide much info.

Exchange 2013:  2 x multi-role in one DAG - on-premise

Performing remote mailbox migration using internet (*non-exchange web-based  tool*), to ship data from cloud Ex2010 server to Ex013 on-premise.

Have multiple failures when doing the mailbox data copy - my migration tool error code tells me that:

This error indicates that we were unable to authenticate to the source or destination mailbox and retrieve a list of folders when given 15 minutes to complete these operations. This may be because the source or destination is unusually slow, has a very large number of folders, or due to "hanging" networking calls.

Some mailboxes are copying, but around 80% are not.  Checked all permissions and other factors.

I see in the System event log the following below:

Exchange server 2007 - Automatically empty / purge users "Deleted items" folder

Hi,

I have a mixture of 2003/2007and some 2010 Outlook clients ( mostly 2003), and i've followed the information here:

I've applied it to just my mailbox, but, after several days, there are still the same amount of deleted emails in my inbox (I understand that it works on the date the email is transferred into the deleted items folder, not the date the emails was received), but I still have emails in there March 2013,

Can someone please advise / help ?

Hi ,

I have  scenario where in , We need to test Jetstress for multiple mailbox profiles. Like for example

lets say we have 100 users at 10Gb Mailbox size and 1000 users at 5GB Mailbox Size , 200 Message sent/receive per day and 100 KB message Size and another set of 1000 users at 2GB mailbox Size , 150 Message sent/receive per day and 75 KB message Size. How do i test Mailbox Profile Test in such kind of scenario using Jetstress?

The Budget for user "Sid~NETBIOS\userid~ews~false' is locked out until..

My Exchange 2013 CU1 server has been running fine for a few months. Today I started receiving hundreds of errors, and some users reporting that their Outlook was disconnected.

MSExchange ADAccess 4023

Process w3wp.exe (AutoDisc) (PID=3924). The budget for user 'Sid~NETBIOS\userid~Ews~false' is locked out until 12/5/2013 7:33:09 PM.  Max Burst: 300000, Recharge Rate: 900000, CutoffBalance: -3000000

After awhile, I also see Error MSExchange ADAccess 4028

Process w3wp.exe (AutoDisc) (PID=3924). The budget for user 'Sid~NETBIOS\userid~Ews~false' has been unlocked.

This server is hosting about 350 users, and about 500 mailboxes. It has CPU cores, I can't imagine the CPU is getting pegged/throttled with so few mailboxes and 4 CPU cores.

Receive Connector w/ SMTP authentication results in embedded binary instead of attachments

We recently migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013. 

We have several multi-function scanners that we use for scan to email functions.  We have a recieve connector setup for internal use.

When that recieve connector is setup to require SMTP authentication by un-checking "Anonymous Users" under "Permission Group" and specifying a valid AD user account the emails get sent but the attachments seem to be embedded in the email as binary instead of being attached.

If we disable SMTP authentication on the scanner and check "Anonymous Users" attachments work as expected.

Any idea what would cause something like that?

Get-OwaVirtualDirectory not working, RPC server unavailable

Hello,

we are experiencing this issue with new fresh install, windows 2012 R2 domain + exchange 2013 + TMG 2010

We looked around for similar issues, but none of the suggested approaches seems to work.

Error (from the local machine hosting the IIS frontend, so run locally from  FRONTEND, IIS on FRONTEND); Result:

The task wasn't able to connect to IIS on the server FRONTEND.foo.local'. Make sure that the server exists
and can be reached from this computer: The RPC server is unavailable.

Process MSExchangeHMWorker.exe (ExHMWorker) (PID=2712). ServerComponentState for Component 'ActiveSyncProxy' set by Requester 'HealthApi' to 'Inactive'

Any help is greatly appreciated. No more ideas here.

Performance issues with Get-Mailbox -Database PowerShell cmdlet

Hello,

I have a database with say around 5000 users. My below non-fancy cmdlet takes close to 4 mins for getting the mailbox objects. Is there a way I can speed it up?

Get-Mailbox -Database -resultsize unlimited

I would love to bring this down to less than 2 minutes if possible. I have tried with result sets of 1K and smaller, but that doesn't help.

I thought about doing an LDAP query instead on relying on Exchange cmdlet, but looks archiveName property is not stored in AD and my application needs that property.

By the way, I have three databases in my environment with around 8K users, if I run the cmdlet concurrently, it hogs up whole of my cpu and takes close to 7 minute.

Automating sending an auto mailbox response message

When an employee leaves the company, we'd like to be able to disable their AD account, but keep their mailbox active for 30 days, sending an auto response letting senders know that the person to whom they are corresponding is no longer available and that they should resend their correspondence to another person.

Ignoring the Spam and security issues inherent in this idea, is it possible to do this from the Exchange server and automate it to any extent?

Exchange 2013 DAG Performance

Customer is running Exchange 2013 CU2-v2 in a two-node DAG running on VMware. The databases seem to failover between the two nodes constantly. I ran the CollectOverMetrics.ps1 script and when I started looking at the HTML file, the vast majority of  failovers occurred due to what the report labels as "Failure Item" in the ActionReason column. No more specifics are given. How can I track this down to understand what that means? I don't see anything in the Event Viewers that correspond to the dates and times listed in the report.

Add-PublicFolderClientPermission failing for 221th user [Bug|Limitation]

Hi,

I am not able to add pf client permission for more than 220 users to a Public Folder, both on Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2010. 

I am trying to add pf permission for 300 users, but Add-PublicFolderClientPermission cmd throws error when it tries to add permission for 221th user with this error:

Folder ACL exceeds allowed size.

We have two exchange 2013 deployments, and this same error occurs at both servers.

This also happens on 2 of our Exchange 2010 SP3 deployments with this error:

Failed to modify the MAPI.NET table property of the object "\pf22" on server "ex2010.ex.lab". See inner exception for more information.

We have tried to add pf client permission using ExFolder tool by MS on Ex 2010, but that also fails with this error.

Exception: Failed to save MapiAclTable table.

So it seems that A PF cannot have more than 220 users for its ACL (pf client permisison). Is it documented somewhere?

So, the only way to grant permission to 200+ users seems the usage of DistributionGroup?
