Calendar Missing attachments after migration ?

Part of manual workflow , we migrated a bunch of users recently from one of our acquisitions , say users were previously in abc.com now migrated over to xyz.com exchange environment, bit lame but one of the user has been missing attachments in his Calendar after migration. Similar process was followed for all users by exporting out *.iCS backup of calendar from abc.com and importing back in  xyz.com's mailbox along with all proxy addresses and PST separately however one folk faced the issue. Could someone suggest a way out to fix this issue with calendar attachments as in now user has been migrated over to target ( xyz.com ) ?

Hello Everybody

I have a issue in regards to my email routing. I have following secnario

--Two Domain Controller

--Exchange migration performed from 2007 to 2010, migrated all mailboxes, public database. All mailbox is using newly created database on exchange 2010.

My issue is that i was trying to do decommission exchange 2007 and the moment i stopped send and receive connector on exchange 2007, i am not able to see any email flow inside and outside. I created a Send and Receive connector on Exchange 2010.

Please help me how can i resolve this issue. I want to get rid of legacy exchange 2007.

Thanks for your help in Advance!!

Problem with updating Exchange photos

$

Hi, there is several similar problems on this forums, but I would rather start over.

We have on prem Exchange 2013 CU4. And I use some 3rd party app (e.g. CodeTwo AD Photos, but I tried other tools as well) for uploading staff photos.

When someone does not have any photo (either because they are new to the company or because I manually remove-userPhoto via Exchange shell before), everything works as expected (photo is uploaded to thumbnail AD attribute and displayed correctly on Exchange related services like Outlook).

However when there is an existing user photo, it usually updates just the AD attribute, but Exchange keeps the old photo (and shows it e.g. in Outlook). It rarely works (but it did for some photo uploads!) as if there were no photo before and I feel like there is a bug on Exchange.

We would like to give the 3rd party tool to our receptionist so that she can update staff photos, but she won't be able/allowed to use Exchange PowerShell. Can someone please test it on their on prem Exch 13 environment?

Additional info:
There is no folder /v15/client... on our Exchange.
In order to update the existing photo I have to manually remove it via Exchange shell (e.g. remove-userPhoto) first.
EAC or OWA shows the updated photo, but I suppose it pulls it off AD (I would have to test this again to be sure).
The company also uses Skype for Business, but not on our local Exchange server.

Hi all,

I block send mail to distribution group from outside. But it still receives mail from outside. I checked "<label for="ResultPanePlaceHolder_EditMailGroup_deliveryManagementSection_contentContainer_rblRequireSenderAuthentication_0" id="ResultPanePlaceHolder_EditMailGroup_deliveryManagementSection_contentContainer_rblRequireSenderAuthentication_0_label">Only senders inside my organization" it is not working.I think there is a problem with permission of the receive connectors.I dont want to use transport rules to block receive mail from outside. Thanks in advance.</label>

Exchange 2013 Patching while maintaining availability (and load balancing)

$

Our planned environment will be a single ET, 3 CAS, and between 3 and 5 MB servers (3 for non-DAG, 5 for DAG), depending on what gets approved by management.  We've got roughly 4k users and a little over 5k mailboxes.  I have a couple questions that I am having a hard time finding answers for:

1.  In a Non-DAG configuration, is there a way to maintain full availability to mailboxes when putting a MB server in maintenance mode (for patching).  I saw that you CAN move databases across servers but Microsoft doesn't recommend doing that as part of general maintenance.

2.  With a single Edge Transport, what's best practice on patching, is there a way to maintain availability or do you just deal with mailflow being down while the server is rebooting/applying patches?

3.  With multiple Edge Transports, is there an internal mechanism with Exchange or Windows that will/can handle load balancing or is a 3rd party device required for this?  I've seen talks of using DNS to handle load balancing but that doesn't address server awareness; i.e. if ET1 goes down, DNS doesn't know not to route traffic to ET1, resulting in dropped traffic/partial mail flow.

After migration from Exchange 2010 to 2013 now have two throttling policies

$

I have the original policy from 2010 named DefaultThrottlingPolicy which has the ThrottlingPolicyScope of Regular and the newly created policy named GlobalThrottlingPolicy which has a ThrottlingPolicyScope of Global. Is it safe to delete the DefaultThrottlingPolicy that was carried over from Exchange 2010? Both policies are exactly the same.

Thanks in advance,
Jose

OWA not Resolving Auto Complete.

$

Hello,

Here the situation, messages that were sent to the recipient are not being Auto Complete when composing a new, or replying to an existing email. Also, when searching for contacts, OWA doesn't locate them. however, when searching for a contact, I can press"Ctrl-K" to force lookup successfully. Finally, when adding contacts to the "To" Field, sometimes its the display name, or the email address.

How do correct Auto Complete cache in OWA, get Lookup to work most of the time, if not 100% of the time, and have the Display Name show every time in the "To" field when sending email?

Reproduce: Multiple Mailboxes, Random Contacts, and Different Browsers. Outlook Client isn't an Option.

Constant NULL SID SChannel authentication errors on Ex2013 CU14 servers (Event 4625)

$

Hi, all! Environment is single-forest domain, Server 2k8 effective level, Exchange 2013 multi-site DAG on Server 2012 R2.  Getting several NULL SID auth errors (Event ID 4625, Status 0xC000006D, sub status 0x80090325).  This is not a cached credential issue, and not related to any scheduled tasks.    Renaming either of these servers and/or removing them from the domain and rejoining them is not an option.  The errors occur several times a minute, every minute, and have been occurring for as long as I can remember.

I've read multiple threads on various boards, and unfortunately none of them touch on any core issues of my problem.  I'm looking for suggestions for trying to track down this (I'm assuming) SSL related authentication issue.  Unless this is a documented bug, I'm sorry but I can't accept "just ignore it"; the Security server logs are effectively useless with this level of events occurring.

Thanks!

Steve

Mail Forwarding Filtering

$

Hello everyone i have a question regarding Exchange 2010. We use 2 transport rules for forwarding all incoming and outbound mail to be bcc'd to a internal mail adress. Every single mail gets forwarded including meeting requests which get automatically accepted and put in the calender. I want to disable that the meeting requests of all mailboxes get forwarded to that adress due to the calender getting all clogged up by irrelevant Calender items.

If any extra information is needed i would happily supply what needed, and i hope any of you have some pointers for me to fix this.

Linking Room Mailboxes with Equipment Mailboxes

$

Morning,

I can't be the only one to have asked this question but i can't find anyone with the same issue.

We have just gone and brought some Surface Hubs on Trolleys so are mobile. We have created Room Mailboxes for them so they can be booked, the issue is Assume the Hub is wheeled in to Room 1. Now users need to book Room 1 to secure the room, but other users could book the Hub or vice versa. Users need to book the Hub and the Room to prevent this from happening even if they dont want a skype call.

The Hubs are mobile so removing the rooms and using the hubs instead as the room wouldn't work as all the bookings would be moved to a different room that could clash with existing bookings.

I thought about using delegates so that when a room is booked it books the Equipment mailbox as well as the delegate?  Is that the best way to do it? anyone else got a recommendation?

Thanks

Mike

I have searched a query over internet and found this but not sure if this can be used for monitoring the shadow queue length and I am sure this won't be too...all I need is queries like these so that I can pull the stats for the required parameters using WMI

select MessagesQueuedForDelivery from Win32_PerfFormattedData_MSExchangeTransportQueues_MSExchangeTransportQueues

Scheduling assistant in Outlook is not showing free/busy information about the SharePoint 2013 calendar

Hello all,

I have the following problem: I have SharePoint 2013 calendar with own email address. I added the calendar to my outlook calendar and I can see the events (meetings) together with my own, so I can pick up a free slot and organize a meeting. But when I tried to set up a meeting with more people (real people) and the aforementioned SharePoint 2013 calendar, when I open the scheduling assistant I see the free/busy details for other participants, but details for the SharePoint calendar are missing and I don't know if the slot I choose is free or not.

In case I'm able to see the free/busy details when I add the SharePoint calendar to my outlook, but not when I use "Scheduling Assistant" of outlook, my feelings are that something should be done on Exchange side? Or maybe there is a workaround for this issue?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
