I'm trying to search for key words in emails that were received after a certain date. When I run the script below, I get emails with the correct words, but it also exports all the ones from dates prior to what i'm requesting.

i am unable to open a exchange 2013 mailbox in OWA i get the below error,what could be the issue?

it shows my CAS server name in X-FEServer.

User has to send email to a restricted "All Users" group using a shared mailbox he/she has "Send On Behalf" permissions.

If user's own account is permitted to send emails to "All Users" group this thing works fine for "Send On Behalf" mailbox as well.

This is the real trouble, some users forget to change the "From" field and end up sending email to "All Users" group from their own mailbox and this creates a lot of inconvenience. 

Is there a way to restrict users so that they can only send email to "All Users" group if "From" field is set to shared mailbox not their individual one?

Guess I'm living in the dark ages, but for the first time while pre-reading before installing an Exchange 2013 CU, I noticed that it is recommended to put the server in maintenance mode prior to proceeding with the install. I read somewhere else that the set up automatically does this for you, but in more than one spot it is shown to manually do this - not sure which way to go. We have a very small set up with a single domain and a single Exchange server (so no doubt it will be unavailable to users during the upgrade).

My actual question for the forum is that every article I see saying to put it in maintenance mode, also indicates to redirect messages to another server - which we obviously can't do since we only have one server. ("Redirect-Message -Server <ServerName> -Target <MailboxServerFQDN>"). My question is probably kind of simplistic, but just want to make sure I don't overlook anything - Am I just to skip this step, ignoring it completely?  Or since we are a single server shop (all roles on one server), is going to maintenance mode even really needed at all?

We are planning to move from on premise exchange to office365. Some of the mailboxes need to be converted as shared mailboxes. I couldn't see that option for any of the mailboxes. I'm trying to do this thru "mailboxes" in "exchange admin center" using the url https://domain/ecp and I'm logging in using domainname\administrator account.

In EAC, after I click the mailbox on the right side, after "Phone and voice features", I see "In-place archive". The small section "convert to shared mailbox" is missing.

Please help.

DL_01 contains a user named User1. I need to configure moderation for DL_02. I need email sent from the members of DL_01 must NOT be moderated unless the sender is User1. All other email must be moderated by a user named Admin1. I am aware this should be possible via a Transport rule but what must be correct transport rule for same. Please suggest.

I thought custom attribute (ms-Exch-Extension-Attribute1 to ms-Exch-Extension-Attribute15) can also be used to display in the outlook contact card, but as far as I have tested they don't appear in outlook contact card.

1. Is it possible to use custom attribute to display in contact card?

2. I cant find any MS article related to this, do you find it?

3. Is it possible to add additional attributes to outlook contact card, apart from the default options such as organization name, contact number, etc? if possible I want them to display in contact card when user download their OAB.

We had an issue on Exchange Server 2013.

Apparently, the Microsoft Exchange Transport service terminated and restarted by itself, causing a disservice.
This is what appeared in Event Viewer:

13:31:53 "The Microsoft Exchange Transport service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service."

13:31:58 "The Service Control Manager tried to take a corrective action (Restart the service) after the unexpected termination of the Microsoft Exchange Transport service, but this action failed with the following error:
An instance of the service is already running."

13:32:00 The Microsoft Exchange Transport service entered the running state.

Can you help us to understand why happened this?

I'm not sure if the built-in management roles can accomplish what I want.

We are going to move mails from a GroupWise server to Exchange 2013 using the application "Kernel" - and for this I need a user having full access with no restrictions on all the Exchange server. I understand that Domain Admins are having Deny ACE on Exchange servers. What will the best approach be to grant a specific user full and non-restricted access to all mailboxes on all Exchange servers? Any Built-in Groups that can take care of this? I guess Help Desk will not be enough.

I would like my Exchange 2013 server never to delete mail unless a user explicit deletes mails. Mails should always stay on the server.

That is Outlook should never ask to autoarchive (and delete/move to local disk) and users using webmail/Outlook on phone should always keep all mails online on the server.

How to accomplish this the best way?

Last Friday night, I ran Windows OS and Exchange 2010 SP3 RU 14 on all of the Exchange servers.

I had success on all Exchange servers except the mailbox servers.  On the mailbox servers,  the RU14 installer provided error code80070643.  It seems to stop during some of the .net processes.

For our mailbox servers, we use Netapp's Snap Drive for Windows (v7.1)and SnapMgr for Exchange (V7.1).

On the servers that succeeded, there are two Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0.50727 services set to manual.

On the mailbox servers that failed, there are four .net services.   Two are the NGEN v2.0 which are Disabled.   The other two are  NGEN v4.0 wich are set to Delay Automatic.

Has anyone seen this?

We have a few users in the office using the built in mail app as they don't have Microsoft Office installed to use Outlook.

It was working fine up until a few days ago but they are no longer able to sync with the exchange server. Their accounts are OK because if they go onto another PC using Outlook they can access their email with no problems.

Nothing has changed since when it was working in terms of updates and certificate changes, we have been using the same certificate for the past 6 months without issues.

The users are able to access their Gmail and Hotmail accounts via the Mail app in Windows 10, its just the exchange accounts that arent working. The exchange account adds fine, it accepts the settings and credentials, but when trying to sync we are getting the following message:

"Something went wrong...  We cant syncrhronise at the moment. But you may be able to find more information on this error code at www.windowsphone.com.  Error code: 0x80072f99"

I have searched the site it has suggested and have spent hours searching the internet for this error code but just hit a dead end.

Is there anyone here that can help?

Hello everyone

We migrated to Exchange modern public folders and have run into issues with size limitations.  We have one mailbox that is full and no one can add new items.  I have run the split-publicfoldermailbox.ps1 script which is supposed to allow you to span to another mailbox.   I get a message stating to remove request and continue.  Anyone know what this message is about?  There does not appear to much documentation on this script.
