Mailbox not visible in EMC

$

Hello.

I have a mailbox that is moved from exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 using Cmdlet Move-mailbox. After moving the mailbox is not visible in the EMC in Exchange 2013. However, it appears using Get-Mailbox cmdlet.
Any ideas on why it does not appear in EMC?

Thanks.

Exchange 2013 Public Folders Alias

Hello,

I am brand new to the Exchange environment as well as scripting and hopefully my issue is an easy fix that I just cannot figure out.

The alias for my Public Folder is misspelled. Alias should be "Public Folder" but instead Alias is "Public Foler". I can see this when I use Get-Mailbox -PublicFolder. I've tried using Set-Mailbox -Alias "Public Folder" but it errors out.

Am I using the wrong cmdlet or just not using it correctly?

Hi all,

On my Exchange Server 2010 SP3, many MSExchangeIS 8528 events are logged about a user who has not mailbox and no AD account. What the hell ? This user seems to be named like "userGUID". In my case the cn is "userd954b7ed".

An idea about that ?

Thank you.

How to upgrade Exchange 2013 host OS to Server 2012 R2

$

Currently in our environment we have Exchange 2013 (Client Access and Mailbox on one server) (no service pack) built on Server 2012 machine. I'd like to rebuild the Exchange server on a new Server 2012 R2 machine. Are there any automated tools for transferring client access configuration(accepted domains, connectors, etc) and can I just unmount the databases from the current server and mount them on the new, or do i have to create new mailbox databases and migrate the mailboxes? Do you guys know any tutorials for this scenario? Thanks in advance!

Restarting Diagnostics & Health Monitoring Services

Hi all

As a part of a configuration change to an Ex2013 server (member of a DAG) I need to restart MsExchangeHM  & MSExchangeDiagnostics services.

I haven't restarted those services in a production server before.  Will they affect client facing services?

Regards.

Exhange 2013 - Error Message on Succesful Migration of Mailboxes

$

Hi

I'm getting a message when ever I do a mailbox migration. I have tried searching on the web for clues as to what could be causing this but have currently drawn a blank.

I have migrated from one exchange 2013 server to another exchange 2013 server.

All of the system, discovery and public folder mailboxes has successfully been moved over to the new server.

Old server was a physical server. New server is on a VM on hyper-v

No DAG is configured.

Mailbox moves complete successfully but the error appears.

The error is.

THE SUBSCRIPTION FOR THE MIGRATION USER X@X.COM COULDN'T BE LOADED. THE FOLLOWING ERROR WAS ENCOUNTERED: MAILBOX 'X' IS NOT CURRENTLY BEING MOVED..

Was wondering what the issue is and how I resolve it.

Mailbox moves do seem to be taking place fine. But this even happens when you move mailboxes between databases on the same server.

Cheers

Hybrid Configuration with office 365 [URGENT]

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question. I have a on prem exchange enviornment and we have recently signed up for office 365. we are deploying ADFS and Hybrid enviornmnet. Now here the catch:

MY office 365 domain is mydomain.com

My on prem exchange accepted domain is mail.mydomain.com. The MX records in my external dns is setup for mail.mydomain.com which is the on prem

now will that be an issue that the domains are different?

I have added the mail.mydomain.com in my office 365 domains as well. but have not added the DNS records cuz i am confused of what will be the conflict between two. if i configure the DNS record to point mx to office 365 what will happen to on prem enviornment? will that stop working. Can i add mail.mydomain.com in office 365 and have them both enviornments work at the same time? will the DNS records in external affect anything?

Room Delegate Unable to Approve or Deny Room Bookings made to Exchange 2013

$

I’m trying to set up a user as a Room Delegate, however, when the Delegate ‘Accepted’ the meeting request (the Delegate was not added as an attendee by the Meeting Organiser originally), the Delegate was added as an Accepted Attendee to the meeting and on the Room calendar the schedule meeting remained as ‘Tentative’.
What I was expecting to happen when a Meeting Organiser sends a meeting request to book a room was:
a) The Meeting Organiser receives an email informing that the room booking is waiting approval from the room delegate.
b) The Room Delegate receives an email informing that someone has made a booking to a room and it needs approval.
c) The Room Delegate could Approve or Deny the booking.
d) The Meeting Organiser receives an email informing of the Room Delegates decision.

Below is the configuration I’m using, please can someone have a look over this and let me know if I’m doing something wrong or if my expectations are misplaced?

Many Thanks,
Escoll

how to disable junk filter on exhcange 2013

hi all,

we recently migrated a few mailboxes from ex2010 to ex2013, since then some mails in the newly migrated boxes start receiving valid mails to their junk folder.

in 2010 we completely disabled the junk filters and denied users from accessing the junk menu in outlook 2010 through gpo.

ive ran the command:

Set-MalwareFilteringServer <Server_Name> -BypassFiltering $True

on both my server (i have DAG), my first question - do i need to restart any service in order to apply the changes?
if not, how can i disable the junk filter entirely? (we have a different system for that)

thanks for the time and help,

Sean

The output displayed is 0 for all the folders except 2014 and 2015  even though i have more than 4000 mails in each folder . Also for 2014 folder , even though it has more than 4000 mails , the output is 2700. I am using Outlook 2013. Does anyone know any solution?

Thanks & Regards

Exchange 2013 - Send as missing from Recipient Management role

My helpdesk is a member of the Exchange Recipients Management group in AD and previously had access to manage Send-As in Exchange 2007. After being migrated to Exchange 2013, they no longer see the SendAs + symbol but can manage Send of Behalf of and Full Mailbox access.

Anyone run into this. I see from this article, that Recipient Management should give them the rights.

RBAC Modify Mail enabled security groups I Own

$

Hello all

Running Exchange 2013 Ru8, all users are running Outlook 2013. I have granted the necessary RBAC permissions that allow users to modify membership of distribution groups and mail enabled security groups that the user owns. However i notice that users who try and modify a mail enabled security group using the outlook client get permission denied error message. However if the same user uses ECP they are able to modify the mail enabled security group. If the user can modify the group using ECP, this tells me that the RBAC permissions are correct. What could be causing the outlook client to fail?

Thank you

Exchange 2010 and 2013 coexistence

Testing client connection. Using OWA and Outlook client to test.

Mailbox on Exhange 2010 vs Exchange 2013. Mailbox connected to 2013 are slower.

When using OWA to compare just by opening an email, the difference is noticeable (owa 2010 opens instantly and 2013 lags at least 2 seconds)

Within the outlook client, avp resp on 2010 is around 30 and when a mailbox is on 2013 the avg resp is around 120 and above.

Is this normal with 2013?

Is it safe to say avg resp below 200 is good?
