ECP not retrieving all my OUs when creating new mailboxes

Hello,

In EAC, when I want to create a new standard mailbox, shared mailbox, Group, ... I can't see all organizational unit of my active directory. And if I use search in the "OU selection" Pop-up it can't find OU that are not showed in the list. In EMS I have no problems for creation of mailbox in that OU.

We have Exchange 2013 CU2v2, and I use an admin user member of "Organization Management".

Is anyone can help me ?

Exchange 2013 Hybrid Wizard

Hi Experts,

We have 2 Ex2010 servers (HUB/CAS/Mailbox) withSP3 (both on 2008-R2) located in separated AD sites, let’s say Site A and B. Site A is Internet facing (webmail.<ourdomain>) and Site B is not. We have install enExchange 2013 SP1 in 2012-R2 system in Site B to act as hybrid with our Office 365 and we have published it with a new address space (mail.<ourdomain>) different than Ex2010 is using in site A.

After the finishing of theHybrid wizard (which was completed successfully) we are facing the following issues:

Issue 1

On both Ex2010 servers the EMC displays the same warnings:

--------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft Exchange Warning

--------------------------------------------------------

Warnings

Get-ReceiveConnector

Completed

Warning:

The object Ex2013\Default Frontend Ex2013 has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:

Warning:

Could not convert propertyTlsDomainCapabilities to type SmtpReceiveDomainCapabilities.

Error while converting string 'mail.protection.outlook.com:512:<I>CN=MSIT Machine Auth CA 2, DC=redmond, DC=corp, DC=microsoft,

DC=com<S>CN=mail.protection.outlook.com, OU=Forefront Online Protection for Exchange, O=Microsoft, L=Redmond, S=WA, C=US'

to result type Microsoft.Exchange.Data.SmtpReceiveDomainCapabilities: "mail.protection.outlook.com:512:<I>CN=MSIT Machine Auth CA 2,

DC=redmond, DC=corp, DC=microsoft, DC=com<S>CN=mail.protection.outlook.com, OU=Forefront Online Protection for Exchange, O=Microsoft, L=Redmond, S=WA, C=US"

isn't a valid list of SMTP Receive domain capabilities.

Giving “get-receiveconnector” power shell command also is interrupted with the same message.

Running the same command on Exchange 2013 is completed successfully. Ex2013 EAC has no problem at all!

That value of the property “TlsDomainCapabilities” exists only on “Ex2013\Default Frontend Ex2013” receive connector on Exchange 2013 server and only after hybrid wizard completion.

Issue 2

-------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft Exchange Warning

--------------------------------------------------------

Warnings

Get-HybridConfiguration

Completed

Warning:

The object Hybrid Configuration has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:

Warning:

Could not convert property Domains to type SmtpDomain. Error while converting string 'autod:<ourdomain>' to result type Microsoft.Exchange.Data.SmtpDomain: "autod:<ourdomain>" isn't a valid SMTP domain.

--------------------------------------------------------

OK

--------------------------------------------------------

The same command Get-HybridConfiguration from Exchange 2013 power shell runs smoothly!

The value in the error parameter “Domains” is {<otherourdomain>, autod:<ourdomain>}

And finally the most unclear and unexpected error is this:

We have no Mail flow problems.

Received Connectors that was created in Ex2010 before hybrid wizard cannot be managed now from Ex2010 EMC/PS (but they can from Ex2013).

Please advice.

Thank you in advance

Hi

We have a mixed 2007SP3 and Exchange 2013 CU5 eviroment.
Pretty much since CU3 (first version we installed) we have had problems with resources, but since SP1 we cannot create or edit resources.
We have a root domain and three child domains, all Exchange 2013 servers are in the root domain. The Exchange 2007 servers are located in the root and two of the child domains.

When creating a Room we get this:

Note: Pulsar is the E2013 CU5 Mailbox-server, Panerai is a Domain Controller in a child domain.

The Room is the listed but when trying to open it we get this:

In the mailbox-server log we get this log: ID 4 Source MSExchange Control Panel

Current user: 'newsec.se/Consultants and Commons/IT-Stureplan/ADMINISTRATOR'

We tried to put the AD-account in different domains/OUs... but the same problem occurs.
I have a case with MS-support (114051511444067) but I throw it up here also.

HI,

Some users are getting below error when sending mails to external accounts. we have exchnage 2010 and issue occurs only when sending mails outside the org.

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      'abc@xyz.com' on 6/7/2013 11:20 AM
This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator.  Error is [0x80004005-00000000-00000000].

Some articles i found were pointing to max. recipients limits issue. But the issue happens even when sending mail to a single recipient ( SO i guess this is not the issue here ). Also mails are going out fine when sent throught through OWA.
Recreation of outlook cache profile also seems to resolve the issue.

Move mailbox from Exchange 2013 to 2007 - Job is Poisoned error

$

I am trying to move my mailbox from my On Premise Exchange 2013 server to my On Premise Exchange 2007 server. I keep getting a failure indicating the Job was Poisoned and that the Poison count=6. I have successfully moved other mailboxes from this server to the same server I am trying to move mine to without issue. I find very little documentation on this error and what I do find talks about a quarantined mailbox. I can access the mailbox just fine so I am sure it is not quarantined. Does anyone have any suggestions they can offer? I need to get my mailbox off of this server as it is causing issues with our phone system since it is not compatible with Exchange 2013 at the moment.

Calendar issues and read receipts

$

Hi all,

About 6 months ago we upgraded Exchange from 2003 to 2007 and from 2007 to 2013.

Server setup is Win2k12r2 with Exchange 2013 SP1.

Clients are all Win8.1 with Office 2013 up-to-date.

We have experience some issues from the start. But we are unable to resolve them.

Issue 1:

When Outlook is operating in cached mode and shared folders are downloaded too calendars shared between users are not up-to-date. This means: when a users adds an appointment to the shared calendar, it sometimes takes a lot of time before other users can see this. We solved this issue by disabling the download of shared folders. This way all users work online in shared calendars.

Issues 2:

When using the above mentioned combination of a cached mailbox with online shared folders we are unable to use the context menu (right mouse button) on an appointment to set the category that is located in a shared calendar. The solution is to disable cached mode in outlook, which means outlook is Online. Then the issue is resolved. But we would like to have outlook in cached mode.

Issue 3:

When outlook is in online mode the Read receipt function breaks down. When a user requests a read receipt (internally or externally) and presses the send button a message stating that the mail was deleted without reading is immediatly received. Putting outlook in cached mode solves this issue. But it seems broken anyway but it might be a setting?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Get-mailbox -RecipientTypeDetails sharedmailbox -Resultsize unlimited

Hi all,

IM running this command but it fails at Totalitemsize.

Get-mailbox -RecipientTypeDetails sharedmailbox -Resultsize unlimited | select DisplayName, TotalItemSize, Database, DeliverToMailboxAndForward, ExchangeGuid, ForwardingAddress, SamAccountName, ServerName, UseDatabaseQuotaDefaults, WhenMailboxCreated, Alias, EmailAddressPolicyEnabled, PrimarySmtpAddress, WhenChanged, WhenCreated, WhenChangedUTC, WhenCreatedUTC, OriginatingServer| export-csv C:\output.csv

Everything else is showing fine, but itemsize is blank.Any idea why?

If all this is to much, which command to export all shared mailbox with displayname, totalitemsize, database and servername?

thanks!

Error when adding new database to Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG

$

This is a new Exchange 2007/2013 SP1 coexistence.

We are using IP-less DAG in 2013 SP1/Server 2012 R2. (DAG without cluster administrative access point)
There are only 2 members in the DAG and a random witness server.  Servers are MAIL101 and MAIL102 and the witness is AP104.  I've used generic domains so don't get hung up on that below.  Databases are DB1, DB2, DB3... etc..

I get the following error whenever I add a new database to the DAG.

warning
Couldn't communicate with the Microsoft Exchange Replication service on server "MAIL101.us.rootdomain.rootdomain" to pick up new configuration changes for database "DB3 Archive". Make sure that the service is running and that the server has network connectivity. Error: A server-side administrative operation has failed with this error: The database operation failed due to a transient condition. Error: The database operation failed due to a transient condition. Error: Unable to query Active Directory for database 'dbba2bc2-b1ed-4e3a-9b00-56df3e83017e'. You can try the operation again, and you may not get the error. [Database: dbba2bc2-b1ed-4e3a-9b00-56df3e83017e, Server: MAIL101.us.rootdomain.rootdomain]

Please restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on server MAIL101 after adding new mailbox databases.

After restarting the information store the database seems to mount just fine.  Is this error common or is there something else involved here?  I get initial seeding problems on these databases as well, but again restarting the information store after creating the DAG copy and just waiting a couple minutes or telling it to resume seem to solve the issue as well.

It doesn't ultimately seem to be a problem as I can work around it in the end, but I want to make sure I won't have some sort of long standing problem or if there's a way to solve the warning.

Exchange 2013 Performance Monitor Data Collector Sets

$

I've noticed that the Exchange 2013 install created two data collector sets within Performance Monitor:

  • ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog
  • ExchangeDiagnosticsPerformanceLog

These sets are creating daily log files saved in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\Diagnostics\DailyPerformanceLogs that are about 500MB in size, which are filling up our system volume.

I've tried stopping them, but they get restarted automatically. I also tried deleting them, but they get recreated automatically. Is there a way to disable these? We have a 3rd party tool that we use for performance monitoring and would like to avoid having to delete these log files on a regular basis to keep our system volume from filling up.

As a workaround, I've changed the path where the log files get saved to a non existent drive letter, but would still like to disable the Data Collector Sets completely.

Thanks,

-Cory

Exchange Federation Calendar Sharing not working between three on premises forests

$

Hi,

We have three exchange server orgs on premises. Federation of the email domains and organization relationships have been setup using local CA certificates and adding records to the host files to point the exchange servers to the correct cas server in the other orgs for autodiscover etc. (Two of the orgs are using .local AD domains, txt records were added to the external dns that matches the email domains for federation). I have tested the federation trusts and org relationships and there are no errors. But we still cannot see free/busy from the mailboxes in the other forests.

Does the users outlook mailbox need to use the autodiscover url - I assumed everything went through the CAS servers and then over the org relationship link ?

Thanks

Exchange Server 2013 POP3 Service on CAS cannot after Upgrade to SP1

When I manual start MSExchangepop3 Service on CAS It show "The Microsoft Exchange POP3 Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
In event log show POP3 EventID 1018 , 1019 , 1036
It said like this blinding already use (0.0.0.0)

The point is "IF I SET BINDING FOR 995 , MSEXCHANGE POP3 Service will automatic stop"
Does anyone face this issue please?

Exchange 2013 SP1 migration, cannot access EAC or PowerShell

Hello,

I find myself in a real pickle here after an Exchange 2013 SP1 install. In an SBS2011 environment, trying to decomission 2011 eventually. Have a Windows 2012 R2 server, fully updated. I've been through the prerequisites quite thoroughly (i think!) and the Exchange 2013 install went through without error messages. What I am left with after the restart is an inaccessible Exchange system on this server however! (SBS2011 Exchange still ok) When I attempt to load the https://<server>/ecp - I am brought to the usual OWA authentication screen. When I enter credentials, (definitely correct!), it just loops back to the login stating they are incorrect over and over. Strangely, if I enter purposefully incorrect credentials a few times, it eventually will say forbidden. The more concerning and I'm sure related issue is that I can't even get the EMS to load properly. Launching the PowerShell (as admin!) it will simply pause, then fail with an Access Denied message. (Specific error below). Note, this does not seem to be the WinRSAT error that I have seen many help articles written on, all checks of the WinRSAT show that it is installed and running fine...

Sometimes I will get a similar error, but with this Fully Qualified Error ID:

 + FullyQualifiedErrorId : -2144108322,PSSessionOpenFailed

I have a strong feeling this has to do with IIS, authentication types and/or permissions? I have followed several guides on 'resetting' the authentication settings on the DefaultWebsite and the Exchange BackEnd sites within IIS. I cannot connect to the Exchange instance in powershell, so I cannot 'rebuild' or 'reset' the Virtual Directories via the commands generally given to do so.

I've checked folder permissions on many of the physical locations, and made sure that Authenticated Users have Read access as well. I've also successfully ran the CU5 on the server, which installed happily - but unfortunately did not change the situation. Also tried creating a new AD account, (non-Domain Admin), and placed it in Administrators and Organization Manager groups without any change as well.

I understand more information will be needed to better troubleshoot this, so please feel free to ask for specific details and I will furnish these. I am just at a loss as to why could be causing this to be so firmly inaccessible!

Thank you
